Evaluating Effectiveness of Analytics In Bringing Transparency To Early Stage Recruitment In Pakistani Corporations

This M&E event is a step towards making workplaces safer, more productive, and transparent. This initiative probes into underlying causes of workplace toxicity: Recruitment of the workforce’s most vulnerable segments. This event will make use of analytics to highlight how some prevalent unethical recruiting practices continue to dominate corporations; as well as discuss how technology can help flag these practices. In light of the COVID-19 led economic slowdown, more people will suffer the consequences of layoffs. We anticipate an escalation in exploitative hiring mechanisms. And more young people are likely to be coerced into making disadvantaged career choices. We expect demand for our findings and recommendations to increase. We also hope that public input into this event will help inform the next stage of research.

Participants will learn:
a. Identify high-risk areas in the recruitment cycle for early-stage professionals, and how violations succeed in bypassing policy.
b. Measuring the prevalence of unethical talent sourcing practices, such as nepotism and cronyism. Data collected will be added to existing recruiting data, before analytics are run through them. We expect analytics to flag areas of high prevalence.
c. Onboarding issues not identified by HR, but which can be identified through analytics
d. Describe—with recruiting analytics—the difference in hiring practices between Local Large Corporates, Multinationals, and Startups in Pakistan

Participants will:
a. Share their early-stage recruitment experiences
b. Share current practices within HR to combat aforesaid issues
c. Describe policy recourse in their organizations
