From COVID-19 to Climate Change: Transformational Evaluations for Global Crises

To bring evaluation evidence, for example the work of the Transformations Forum or Blue Marble Evaluation (food systems), to shift evaluation paradigms to transformational change at the system level.
In this time of deep international uncertainty around the spread of and response to COVID 19, there will be opportunities for system change and large scale transformation that will could have positive impacts in responding to climate change. For example when international air travel restarts there could be opportunities for reducing emissions through regulations and taxations
This discussion will be framed not only in conventional approaches like the Anthropocene and the SDGs, but also within the emerging stronger focus on complex systems and transformational change, perpetuated by the triple shock of intersecting health, financial and economic crises.
It will have a global focus reflecting on global responsibilities and approaches rather than on a particular part of the world.
